Reel Leak CheckManufacturer-specific garden hose reel triage

One leak · one exact next check

Where is your garden hose reel leaking?

A drip at the faucet, inlet, outlet or rotating swivel can call for a different part. Choose the maker and the first wet point; this local-only check separates official washer, connection and model-specific component guidance.

Before touching a fitting: turn water off at the source and drain the hose. Never force cross-threaded connectors or keep a visibly split hose or cracked fitting under pressure.

Get the narrow next step

A reel model number is not automatically the swivel part number. If a part mark is missing, choose unknown; this tool will not guess an O-ring size or cross-brand fit.

What each manufacturer actually supports

ELEY / Rapid-Reel

Rear water often begins at the inlet-hose-to-swivel connection. A leak from the front brass swivel body generally needs the correct replacement swivel; ELEY names a separate frost-gasket kit only for its current 4291 swivel when that specific gasket is the source.

Liberty Garden

Liberty first checks swivel O-rings. Its tested Danco alternatives are tied to swivel part numbers: #11 for 4007, 4009 or 4010; #12 for 4000 or 4008. Do not transfer those numbers to another swivel or choose by reel appearance.

Suncast

The universal manual starts with connections and washers, then model-specific in-/out-tube support if leaking continues. It does not identify a universal replacement seal for an unknown Suncast reel.

This is a source-routing aid, not a pressure test, warranty decision or guarantee that a part will fit. For an unidentified maker or component, the answer is unknown until the maker or exact model/part is verified.
